Module 05|Journey Management and Transport Safety
<aside> 🧭
Knowing the destination is only part of the journey. This module joins drivers, vehicles, routes, fatigue and delay so that the return is planned as carefully as the outward trip.

A route that joins up on a map may not be passable today. This course uses current road, weather and local restrictions to plan actual movement. Check which change would alter a trip you have coming up.
Start with purpose, people, destination and permitted travel window, then check the route against recent changes. The shortest map route may not be suitable once restrictions, weather, daylight, reception and medical access are considered. Date route information and review approval when critical conditions change.
Try it: Plan departure, stops, arrival and return with realistic margins. Check current roads, weather and local restrictions, then give your contact an arrival window. A map can show a line without showing whether today's movement is workable.
In practice: Before departure, yesterday's route update is stale and traffic controls have appeared near the destination. Check current reports, arrival time and return window. Delay if pickup cannot be confirmed. A route plan must work today, not merely on a map.
Booking a car is only the first step: driver identity, pickup point and vehicle still need checking. You will verify through the original channel when an arrangement changes. Rehearse the call you would make for a plate mismatch.
